Belmont Rowing Center

BRC is Charlotte’s choice for recreational and competitive rowing for youth (12+) and adults in Belmont, NC. We row on the calm waters of the Catawba River out of the Riverside Marina – just across the river from Charlotte.

We offer a variety of rowing opportunities for youth and adults including Summer Camps, Rowing for Active Recovery, Learn to Scull, Learn to Sweep, and Indoor Rowing as well as a youth and adult team. No experience necessary, come give us a try!

Our mission is to provide affordable, accessible recreational and competitive rowing programs for youth and adults to promote the sport, foster teamwork, and encourage physical activity and a healthy lifestyle.

COVID-19 Policy

Belmont Rowing Center aligns its COVID policies with USRowing’s policies. USRowing recently updated it’s policies with the “Re-opening the Boathouse/Return to Training Considerations Post COVID-19.” The document linked below shows substantive changes highlighted in yellow. In particular, we wanted to point out the following changes:

  • Fully-immunized individuals may resume all rowing activities without wearing a mask or staying six feet apart.
  • Unvaccinated individuals should continue trying to maintain physical/social distancing of at least six feet and at least 12 feet in indoor training settings.
  • However, during times of significant community spread USRowing recommends athletes, coaches, and staff wear masks indoors (except while engaged in training).
  • In case of an exposure, USRowing has aligned with the CDC’s updated concepts and definitions of quarantine and isolation as of January 19, 2022. Detailed examples of when an athlete needs to quarantine and not quarantine are listed in the document.

At this time, BRC will continue to allow athletes to row unmasked in multi-person boats given all athletes in the boat have signed the COVID Multi-Person Boat waiver.
