What might be preventing you from rowing? Schedule? Cost? Age? Size? A recent illness or injury? No one looks like you? We want to help!
At Belmont Rowing Center, we believe there is a seat in the boat for everyone to reap the vast rewards our sport has to offer – no matter their gender, race, ethnicity, native language, religion, ability status or veteran status. We’re dedicated to growing our beloved sport by ensuring it’s accessible to as many community members as possible. Our welcoming and diverse community includes rowers ranging in age ranging from 12 to nearly 80 years old, and at all skill levels! Our rowers come in all shapes and sizes, and represent a variety of backgrounds and experience levels.
We have introductory programs for both youth and adults:
- We offer “Learn To Row” courses for adults, providing a comprehensive introduction to the sport over three class sessions, including two with on-water experience!
- We offer a Rowing for Active Recovery program for adults who are recovering from cancer or other illness, injury, or trauma. Learn more about ROAR Here
- We offer week-long instructional camps during the summer tailored for those aged 12 – 18.
Regardless of the obstacle, we’re here to support you:
- If program fees or transportation is a barrier, we offer financial assistance.
- If you’re recovering from cancer or other illness, injury or trauma, you may be appropriate for our Rowing for Active Recovery program.
- If you’re nervous about taking on a new sport or joining a new community, we have a buddy program and can match you with a mentor who can answer your questions.
Curious to learn more? We invite you to reach out to us. We’re committed to listening and finding the best way to get you involved.
