In 2019, 11 teens started indoors on the ergs learning the basics of the rowing stroke and reviewing rowing shells on land before getting out on the water in two 8+s. After a couple of hours learning the stroke, we capped off the session with a few short “races” from buoy to buoy by 4s.
We had 5 volunteer seat fillers and 2 coxswains from our Youth team to help Jack & Jill through the steep learning curve that rowing has. Our Masters volunteered on shore at dock to assist with launching and return recovery.
